During the first three months of 2013 amount of filled applications for intellectual property rights registration in Ukraine has increased significantly.
Artem Kantsypa, IP Agent at the patent agency Inventa Co, Ltd says, “According to the recent report of the Ukrainian Institute of Industrial Property http://www.uipv.org/en/index.html the first 3 months of 2013 have shown growth of amount of filled applications for inventions on 9%, and for industrial designs on 48%.
The part of filled applications for inventions patents in the total amount of the filled applications was almost 11%, for utility models – almost 21%. Applications for industrial design patents took more than 4% of the total applications amount.
Applications for trademark registration in Ukraine took about 44%, and international trademark registration applications had about 21%.
Following worldwide tendency in growth of inventions patents and industrial designs patenting the IP Law company Inventa Co Ltd also increased amount of applications filled during the first 3 months of 2013 – 120% plus for industrial designs, and 17% plus for inventions patents. According to the abovementioned report of the Ukrainian Institute of Industrial Property part of applications related to Organic Chemistry was about 29.5%, and “Medications “ took about 22% of all applications filled.”
